Blanca (あやしいねこ, Suspicious Cat) is a recurring character in the Animal Crossing series, appearing in almost every game. She is a white cat who asks the player to draw her a face. Her name may come from the Spanish word for "white", which is "blanco" or her blank face, adding an 'a' to make it appear and sound like a name. Or, from the French word for "white", which is "blanc". Some say her gender is unknown, because she has no defining masculine or feminine features, though her name is a female name. In Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: City Folk, she has a distinct lazy or jock voice, both of which are male personality types.

Animal Crossing[]

Drawn

Blanca will visit you on a random day anytime of the week. She is not triggered by anything but is instead a normal special visitor. She appears early in the morning and will wander around your village with a blank face. When you talk to her, she will ask you to draw her a new face because she does not like her current one. If you agree to do it, a pattern maker very similar to the one that you use to design patterns at the Able Sisters will pop up. You are now free to draw anything that you would like on Blanca’s face. After you are done and finished, Blanca will be somewhat satisfied and will leave your village the next day. She will also do the same thing on the train sometimes.

Animal Crossing: Wild World[]

Blanca is back again, but this time you must turn on and make sure that two things are working. Those two things are:

  • Make sure you have the "mysterious cat" option turned on (accessible via the phone in your attic).
  • You must be able to access the Wi-Fi network.

Only after that will you be able to see Blanca visit you. She will again be devastated with her current face and ask you to design a new one for her. Draw it, make sure that it is acceptable, and by tomorrow morning Blanca will be long gone!

Animal Crossing: City Folk[]

This time Blanca will only be able to visit you if you have Wii Connect 24 turned on. You can turn this on by activating it when talking to Rover on the bus, or by accessing the phone in the attic and turning it on there. The day that she appears she will end up canceling out any other special visitors that were programmed to visit you that day. Blanca will not leave until you draw her a new face that she likes. You can make Blanca go away by turning Wii Connect 24 off, save and quit the game, come back and then turn it back on. If you would not like to do that, you know what to do - draw her a new face! This time she can request certain faces she would like (you don’t have to draw them):

Ugly
  • Angry
  • Serious
  • Creepy
  • Happy
  • Adult
  • Crazy
  • Cute
  • Mature

Appearance[]

Blanca is a white cat with no face at all. However, in Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: City Folk, you will see that she will have a face already drawn on her that was from somebody also that had already gotten her the previous day.

Personality[]

Blanca is not well liked because of the type of personality that she has. She usually tends to be more negative than positive and is never satisfied with the face that you draw her. She will complain and whine about how terrible she looks until you finally give into her wishes and draw her a face (just to get her out of your village!).
